Juicy J

Early Life

Jordan Michael Houston III, known professionally as Juicy J, was born on April 5, 1975, in Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up, he developed a keen interest in the music industry, immersing himself in books and essays about marketing, publishing, and royalties. He admired Al Bell, a notable figure in the music scene, and attended Northside High School, where he penned the lyrics for the iconic Three 6 Mafia track "Slob on My Knob" during his eleventh grade.

Career

Juicy J co-founded the Southern hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia in 1991 alongside DJ Paul and Lord Infamous, later joined by Crunchy Black, Gangsta Boo, and Koopsta Knicca. The group initially operated as an underground act, releasing their first official album, "Mystic Stylez," in 1995. Their big break came in 2000 when they signed with Loud Records, leading to mainstream success. Their 2005 hit "Stay Fly" peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, and they won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "It's Hard out Here for a Pimp" from the film "Hustle & Flow" in 2006. Juicy J also launched his solo career, releasing his debut album "Chronicles of the Juice Man" in 2002 and later joining Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang in 2011, further solidifying his presence in the hip-hop scene.

Personal Life

In July 2016, Juicy J married his longtime girlfriend Regina Perera. The couple welcomed a daughter in 2018 and a son in 2020. His family life has been marked by both joy and tragedy, as they faced the loss of Patrick Houston Jr., his nephew, who was fatally shot in January 2025.
