Early Life

Kevin Darnell Hart was born on July 6, 1979, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Raised in a single-parent household by his mother, Nancy Hart, he faced challenges early on due to his father's struggles with addiction. Despite these difficulties, Hart found solace in humor, using it as a coping mechanism throughout his childhood. He aspired to be a basketball player in his teenage years, even attending a camp with future NBA star Kobe Bryant. After graduating from George Washington High School, Hart briefly attended the Community College of Philadelphia before dropping out to pursue a career in comedy.

Career

Hart's journey in stand-up comedy began at The Laff House in Philadelphia, where he initially struggled to find his footing. After facing several setbacks, including being booed off stage, he began to hone his unique comedic style, drawing from his personal experiences and insecurities. His breakthrough came with the release of his first stand-up album, "I'm a Grown Little Man," in 2009, followed by several successful albums including "Seriously Funny" (2010) and "Laugh at My Pain" (2011). Hart's comedy tours have grossed millions, and he has become a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, known for his energetic performances and relatable humor.

Personal Life

Hart's personal life has been as colorful as his career. He married Torrei Skipper in 2003, but the couple divorced in 2011, sharing custody of their two children. In 2016, he married Eniko Parrish, with whom he has two children. Hart is also an avid poker player and has participated in major tournaments, even becoming a Brand Ambassador for PokerStars. Despite facing serious injuries from a car accident in 2019, Hart has continued to thrive in his career and remains a practicing Christian, often discussing his faith publicly.
