Maria Lea Carmen Imutan Salonga, born on February 22, 1971, in Manila, Philippines, is a celebrated Filipino singer and actress, often referred to as the "Pride of the Philippines." She is the daughter of Maria Ligaya Alcantara Imutan and Feliciano Genuino Salonga Jr., a rear admiral in the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary. Lea's artistic journey began at a young age; she made her professional stage debut at just seven years old in Repertory Philippines' production of "The King and I". Over the years, she starred in various productions, including "Annie" and "The Sound of Music", showcasing her exceptional talent early on.
