Early Life

Lena Belkina, also known as Olena Leser, is a talented Ukrainian mezzo-soprano born on November 27, 1987. She began her musical journey by studying at the prestigious Kyiv and Leipzig conservatories, where she honed her vocal skills and developed her passion for opera.

Career

Belkina's professional career took off when she became a member of the Leipzig Opera from 2009 to 2012. During this time, she showcased her versatility by performing in notable productions such as "Eugene Onegin" and "Elektra," and taking on roles like Flora in "La traviata" and Zaida in "Il turco in Italia." Her impressive debut at the Konzerthaus in Vienna in 2010 marked a significant milestone, where she performed in Meyerbeer's "Emma di Resburgo."

As part of the Salzburg Festival in 2010, she collaborated with renowned conductors like Riccardo Muti and Ivor Bolton. Belkina's talents were further recognized when she sang Olga in a UNITEL recording of "Eugene Onegin" at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia. Her debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2011 as Second Lady in "The Magic Flute" solidified her status in the opera world. She continued to impress audiences with her performances in various roles, including Cherubino and Flora, at the Vienna State Opera, and her participation in the live filming of "La Cenerentola" in 2012, which won the 64th Prix Italia.
