Early Life

Elena Sergeyevna Katina, better known as Lena Katina, was born in Russia and began her musical journey at a young age. She started her career at just eight years old, joining the children's group Avenue, and later became a member of Neposedy. Her big break came in 1999 when she was selected by producer Ivan Shapovalov to form the pop duo t.A.T.u. alongside Julia Volkova. The duo quickly rose to fame, becoming one of Russia's most successful music acts.

Career

As part of t.A.T.u., Katina achieved international recognition with hits like "All the Things She Said" and "Not Gonna Get Us," which topped charts in multiple countries. The duo participated in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest, finishing third with their song "Ne Ver', Ne Boysia." After t.A.T.u. went on hiatus in 2009 and officially disbanded in 2011, Katina embarked on a solo career, releasing her debut album "This Is Who I Am" and the Spanish version "Esta soy yo." She has also released several singles, including "Never Forget" and "Love Yourself."

Personal Life

Lena Katina's personal life has been as dynamic as her career. She married Slovenian musician Sasha Kuzmanović in 2013 and welcomed her first child in 2015. However, the couple divorced in 2019. In 2021, she became engaged to businessman Dmitry Spiridonov, and they married in June 2022. Katina announced her second pregnancy later that year, giving birth to her second son in July 2023. Beyond her music, she is known for her support of the LGBT community, having performed at the Queerfest festival in Saint Petersburg in 2012, marking a significant moment for a high-profile Russian artist.
