Early Life

Liu Yifei, born An Feng on August 25, 1987, in Wuhan, Hubei, is a Chinese-American actress and singer. Raised as an only child, her father, An Shaokang, was a prominent figure in the Chinese Embassy in France, while her mother, Liu Xiaoli, was a dancer and stage performer. After her parents divorced when she was just 10, Liu moved to the United States with her mother, where they settled in Queens, New York City. It was during this time that she adopted her mother's surname and changed her name to Liu Ximeizi. In 2002, she returned to China to pursue her acting career, adopting the stage name Liu Yifei.

Career

Liu's career took off shortly after she enrolled in the Beijing Film Academy at the age of 15. Her first major role was in the 2003 television series "The Story of a Noble Family," which garnered high ratings and critical acclaim. She quickly became a household name in China, especially after her role in the fantasy drama "Chinese Paladin" in 2005, which solidified her popularity. Transitioning to film, Liu made her Hollywood debut in 2008 with "The Forbidden Kingdom," and later starred in Disney's live-action adaptation of "Mulan," which introduced her to international audiences.

Personal Life

Liu Yifei is known for maintaining a low profile regarding her personal life, with her only publicly known relationship being with South Korean actor Song Seung-heon. The couple dated with intentions of marriage but split in late 2017. Despite her fame, Liu has remained largely free of romantic gossip, focusing instead on her artistic endeavors and career growth.
