Early Life

Elizabeth Egan Gillies, known as Liz Gillies, was born on July 26, 1993, in Haworth, New Jersey. She grew up in a family with Irish ancestry and an Italian grandmother, which influenced her cultural background. Liz attended Northern Valley Regional High School but left to pursue her passion for acting, opting for an online high school program instead. Her journey into the entertainment industry began at the age of 12 when she started attending local casting calls, quickly landing roles in commercials.

Career

Gillies made her Broadway debut in 2008 in the musical "13," which was notable for featuring a cast entirely made up of teenagers. This experience paved the way for her breakthrough role as Jade West in Nickelodeon's "Victorious," which aired from 2010 to 2013. Her character, a complex mix of a 'bad girl' with human qualities, resonated with audiences and showcased her acting range. During her time on the show, she also contributed to the soundtrack, which charted on the Billboard 200. Liz's musical talents were further highlighted when she covered the classic "Santa Baby" alongside Ariana Grande in 2013.

In her personal life, Liz Gillies met music producer Michael Corcoran on the set of "Victorious," where he co-wrote and produced songs for the series. The couple began dating in late 2012 and eventually married on August 8, 2020, in a private ceremony in New Jersey.
