Formation
Lordi is a Finnish rock band formed in 1992 in Rovaniemi by lead singer Mr. Lordi, who initially started the project as a solo endeavor. The band's first demo album, "Napalm Market," was completed in 1993, featuring the song "Inferno," which was later included in a compilation album in 1995. Mr. Lordi's vision of a band of monsters began to take shape after he met musicians Amen and G-Stealer during a Kiss cruise in 1996. They joined him, and the lineup continued to evolve with the addition of keyboardist Enary in 1997. Their first album, "Bend Over and Pray the Lord," was recorded but faced multiple setbacks, including the bankruptcy of their record label before its release.
