Loretta Lynn, born Loretta Webb on April 14, 1932, in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, was the second child of Clara Marie and Melvin Theodore Webb. Growing up in a family with Cherokee heritage, she was the oldest daughter among eight siblings. Her father, a coal miner, passed away when she was just 52, which deeply impacted her life and songwriting. Personal Life

Lynn married Oliver Vanetta Lynn Jr. at the young age of 15, and their tumultuous relationship inspired much of her songwriting. Despite facing challenges, including infidelity and struggles with her husband's alcoholism, Lynn described their bond as a complex love story.
