Lukas Graham

Formation

Lukas Graham, a Danish pop band, was formed in 2011 in Denmark. The original lineup included lead vocalist Lukas Forchhammer, drummer Mark Falgren, and background vocalist Magnús Larsson. The band initially gained attention by uploading homemade videos of their songs, such as "Drunk in the Morning" and "Criminal Mind," which garnered hundreds of thousands of views on social media. They signed a record deal with Copenhagen Records in late 2011, which helped them create an underground buzz before their official music releases.

Breakthrough

The band's self-titled debut album, released in 2012, achieved remarkable success, becoming certified seven-times platinum in Denmark. It featured hit singles like "Better Than Yourself (Criminal Mind Pt. 2)" and "Ordinary Things." Lukas Graham's popularity soared as they toured extensively across Europe, selling 40,000 tickets in Denmark alone and accumulating millions of streams and views online. In 2015, they released their second self-titled album, which included the international hits "Mama Said" and "7 Years," the latter topping charts in multiple countries.

Continued Success

In 2016, Lukas Graham released their international debut album in the United States through Warner Bros. Records. The band's music, often described as a blend of pop and soul, resonates with relatable themes of growing up and personal experiences. Their unique sound has been praised for its fusion of pop, R&B, and folk elements. The band continues to perform with a horn section known as The Rusty Trombones, enhancing their live shows with rich musical textures. As of now, the lineup remains stable with Forchhammer, Falgren, and Larsson continuing to lead the group into new musical territories.
