Maiara Walsh

Early Life

Maiara Walsh was born in Seattle, Washington, to a Brazilian mother and an American father. At just one year old, her family relocated to São Paulo, Brazil, where she became fluent in Portuguese. After experiencing bullying during her childhood, the family returned to Seattle, where Maiara developed a passion for music and the arts, participating in every musical and play her school offered. At the age of 11, she moved to Simi Valley, California, to pursue her acting career and graduated from Royal High School.

Career

Walsh's career began with her role as Meena Paroom in the Disney Channel spin-off series Cory in the House (2007-2008), where she played the ambassador's daughter and best friend to the main character, Cory Baxter. She later appeared in the second season of The Vampire Diaries as Sarah and co-starred in Mean Girls 2 as Mandi Weatherly, a stereotypical popular girl. In a notable role, she was cast as Wichita in the television adaptation of Zombieland, although the series was not picked up after the pilot. Walsh also had a recurring role as Simone Sinclair in the ABC Family drama series Switched at Birth. In 2019, she starred in the Lifetime film Identity Theft of a Cheerleader, portraying Vicky Patterson, a character inspired by a real-life case. In 2020, she continued her work in television with a role in the Lifetime movie Killer Dream Home alongside John DeLuca.
