Early Life

Matthew Paige Damon was born on October 8, 1970, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Kent Telfer Damon, a stockbroker, and Nancy Carlsson-Paige, an early childhood education professor. Growing up, Damon faced challenges, including his parents' divorce when he was just two years old, which led him and his brother to live with their mother in a communal house. Despite feeling out of place during his teenage years, he excelled academically and participated in high school theater productions, where he was influenced by his drama teacher, Gerry Speca. Damon attended Harvard University, where he began to hone his craft in acting and writing.

Career
