Early Life

Michelle Yvonne Hunziker was born on January 24, 1977, in Sorengo, Lugano, located in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. She is the daughter of Ineke, a Dutch woman with distant Indonesian ancestry, and Rudolf, a German-speaking Swiss painter and hotel manager. The family moved to Ostermundigen, near Bern, where Hunziker attended elementary school. Later, she relocated to Milan with her mother, where she began her career as a fashion model at the age of 17, working with renowned brands such as Armani and La Perla. Fluent in German, Italian, English, and Dutch, Hunziker's diverse background has shaped her multifaceted career.

Career

Hunziker's career took off when she became engaged to Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti, which led to her discovery by an Italian TV producer. She made her television debut in 1996, presenting the show "I cervelloni" on Rai Uno. Her popularity soared as she hosted various shows, including the comedy program "Paperissima Sprint" and the afternoon show "Colpo di Fulmine." In addition to her television work, she ventured into acting, appearing in films and TV series such as "La Forza dell'Amore" and "Fammi stare sotto al letto." Hunziker also hosted the late-night show "Nonsolomoda," focusing on fashion and lifestyle, and was involved in a makeover show called "Cinderella" on Swiss television.

Personal Life

Hunziker was married to Eros Ramazzotti from 1998 until their separation in 2002 and subsequent divorce in 2009, which produced one daughter. She later became engaged to Tomaso Trussardi in 2013, with whom she has two daughters. In a controversial statement in 2017, Hunziker attributed her divorce from Ramazzotti to the influence of a cult that sought to isolate her from her family. In a personal gesture, she and her daughter Aurora got matching tattoos of the phrase "Liebe ohne Leiden," inspired by a song from Udo Jürgens, in the fall of 2024.
