Early Life

Michael Elliot Epps, known as Mike Epps, was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents Mary Reed and Tommie Epps. His journey into the world of entertainment began in adulthood when he moved to Brooklyn to pursue a career in comedy, making a significant mark by joining the Def Comedy Jam tour in 1995. Epps quickly gained recognition for his unique comedic style, which led to his appearances in two HBO broadcasts of Def Comedy Jam.

Epps' career took off with his first on-screen appearance in Vin Diesel's film "Strays" in 1997.
