Early Life

Miklós Rózsa was born on April 18, 1907, in Budapest, Hungary, into a musically enriched environment. His mother, Regina, a pianist trained by pupils of Franz Liszt, and his father, Gyula, an industrialist with a passion for Hungarian folk music, instilled in him a deep appreciation for music from an early age. Rózsa began playing the violin at five, later taking up the viola and piano, and by eight, he was already performing publicly and composing.
