Early Life

Achinoam Nini, known professionally as Noa, was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, to a family of Yemenite Jewish origin. At the age of two, she moved to Riverdale, Bronx, where she attended SAR Academy and the Rabbi Joseph H. Lookstein Upper School of Ramaz High School. Noa returned to Israel alone at 16, completing her mandatory service in the Israel Defense Forces as a singer in the military band. She later studied music at the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, where she met her long-time collaborator, guitarist Gil Dor.

Music Career

Noa has established herself as a prominent singer-songwriter and percussionist, known for her unique fusion of languages and musical styles. She has performed in prestigious venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall and the Vatican, where she sang "Ave Maria" to an audience of 100,000. Her music blends pop, contemporary R&B, and jazz, influenced by iconic singer-songwriters like Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell. Over the years, Noa has recorded songs in multiple languages and collaborated with various artists, creating a distinctive sound that reflects her diverse heritage.

Beyond her music, Noa is a passionate political activist advocating for peace and coexistence in the Middle East. She has faced criticism for her outspoken views and has participated in numerous events promoting peace, including performances on Israel's Independence Day. Her contributions to music and activism have earned her several accolades, including the "Crystal Award" from the World Economic Forum and the title of "Commendatore Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana" from Italy.
