Early Life

Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, known professionally as Rajinikanth, was born on December 12, 1950, in a Marathi family in Bangalore, Karnataka. He was the youngest of four siblings, raised in a modest household where his father worked as a police constable. After losing his mother at a young age, Rajinikanth's early education took place at the Gavipuram Government Kannada Model Primary School. His childhood was marked by a blend of mischief and academic curiosity, alongside a passion for sports like cricket and football. His spiritual journey began at the Ramakrishna Math, where he not only learned about Vedic traditions but also discovered his love for acting through participation in plays.

Career

Rajinikanth's film career commenced in 1975 with the Tamil film "Apoorva Raagangal," where he played a supporting role that garnered critical acclaim. His unique style and charisma quickly made him a household name in Indian cinema. Over the next five decades, he starred in approximately 170 films across various languages, including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. His performances in films like "Moondru Mudichu" and "16 Vayadhinile" showcased his versatility and solidified his status as a leading actor. Rajinikanth's contributions to cinema earned him numerous accolades, including the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan, as well as the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2019.

Personal Life and Beliefs

Rajinikanth married Latha Rangachari in 1981, and the couple has two daughters, Aishwarya and Soundarya. A devout Hindu, he practices yoga and meditation, often visiting temples before the release of his films. His spiritual beliefs are deeply rooted, and he frequently cites revered figures like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa as inspirations. Rajinikanth is also known for his philanthropic efforts, reflecting his commitment to giving back to society. Despite his immense fame, he remains grounded and connected to his spiritual roots, often embarking on pilgrimages to the Himalayas.
