Ramin Djawadi

Early Life

Ramin Djawadi was born on July 19, 1974, in Duisburg, Germany, to an Iranian father and a German mother. He grew up in a multicultural environment and attended Krupp-Gymnasium in Duisburg, where he developed a passion for music. Djawadi later pursued formal education at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he honed his skills in composition and music production.

Career

After graduating from Berklee in 1998, Djawadi's career took off when he caught the attention of renowned composer Hans Zimmer, who invited him to join Remote Control Productions. In Los Angeles, he worked as an assistant to Klaus Badelt, contributing to major film scores such as "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" and "The Time Machine." Djawadi's breakthrough came in 2004 with the score for "Blade: Trinity," marking the start of a successful collaboration with director David S. Goyer.

Djawadi is best known for his work on iconic soundtracks, including the Emmy-nominated themes for the television series "Prison Break" and the critically acclaimed score for HBO's "Game of Thrones." His ability to blend orchestral and electronic elements has made him a sought-after composer in the film and television industry. Ramin Djawadi is married to Jennifer Hawks, a music executive and supervisor in the film industry. The couple resides in Los Angeles with their twin children.
