Roger Meddows Taylor was born on July 26, 1949, in King's Lynn, Norfolk, England. He grew up in a musical environment, forming his first band, the Bubblingover Boys, at the age of seven, where he played the ukulele. His early education included attending Truro School, where he transitioned from guitar to drums, inspired by legendary drummers like Keith Moon and Mitch Mitchell.
