His father, Navin Bhansali, was a film producer whose struggles with alcoholism led to financial difficulties for the family. His mother, Leela, worked tirelessly as a seamstress to support them after his father's death from cirrhosis. This challenging upbringing deeply influenced Bhansali's artistic vision, as he often paid tribute to his father in his films. He adopted his mother's name as his middle name and has spoken about how his childhood experiences shaped his storytelling.

Career
