Early Life

Sarah Kate Silverman was born on December 1, 1970, in Concord, New Hampshire, to Beth Ann and Donald Silverman. Growing up in a family with a rich cultural background, she is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent and has often reflected on her heritage in her work. Silverman was the youngest of five children, with her sisters including a rabbi and a writer. Her early life was marked by a passion for performance, as she began her stand-up comedy career at the age of 17 in Boston, despite describing her first performance as "awful". After graduating from The Derryfield School in 1989, she briefly attended New York University before fully committing to her comedy career.

Career
