Sonakshi Sinha

Early Life

Sonakshi Sinha was born on June 2, 1987, in Patna, Bihar, into a family deeply rooted in the film industry. She is the daughter of renowned actors Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, and the youngest of three siblings, with twin brothers Luv and Kush. Growing up in a family with a political background—her father served as a member of parliament—Sinha pursued her education at Arya Vidya Mandir and later graduated in fashion design from Premlila Vithaldas Polytechnic. Before stepping into acting, she worked as a costume designer for films, including the 2005 movie "Mera Dil Leke Dekho."

Career

Sinha made her acting debut in 2010 with the blockbuster "Dabangg," opposite Salman Khan, which became the highest-grossing film of that year. Her performance earned her critical acclaim and several awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Despite a quieter year in 2011, she returned to the screen in 2012 with four films, including the successful "Rowdy Rathore" and the economic hit "Son of Sardaar." Throughout her career, Sinha has been recognized for her talent, appearing in Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list from 2012 to 2017 and again in 2019.

Personal Life

In her personal life, Sinha began dating actor Zaheer Iqbal in 2017, and they starred together in the film "Double XL" in 2022. The couple married on June 23, 2024, in a civil ceremony. Sinha is a vegan and an animal lover, actively advocating for the adoption and sterilization of pets through her work with PETA. She has been recognized as PETA India's 2022 Person of the Year for her efforts in promoting animal welfare. Despite her busy career, Sinha has expressed a strong bond with her family, initially choosing to live with her parents even after purchasing her own home, although she eventually moved out in 2023.
