Timothy James Curry was born on April 19, 1946, in Grappenhall, Cheshire, England, to Patricia, a school secretary, and James Curry, a Royal Navy chaplain. The family moved frequently during his early years, eventually settling in Plymouth when Curry was 11. His father suffered a stroke that year and passed away from pneumonia in 1958, leading the family to relocate to South London. Curry attended boarding school and later Kingswood School in Bath, where he developed his talent as a boy soprano. He graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1968 with a combined BA in English and drama.

Career

Curry's career began in the late 1960s when he joined the original London cast of the musical "Hair."
