TWiiNS

Formation and Early Years

Twiins, a Slovak pop duo consisting of twin sisters Daniela and Veronika Nízlová, was formed in 1996 when they were just ten years old. Initially known as Tweens, the name was suggested by poet and songwriter Daniel Hevier. The duo began their music career by competing in the children's singing competition "Hviezdička."

Name Change and Breakthrough

In 2008, the duo rebranded themselves as Twiins. They gained significant exposure as background singers and dancers for Tereza Kerndlová, who represented the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. Their own Eurovision journey began in 2011 when they represented Slovakia with the song "I'm Still Alive," achieving the country's best result since its return to the competition in 2009, despite not qualifying for the final.

Notable Releases and Collaborations

Twiins have released several albums, including "Tweens," "Máme čas...," "Škrtni zápalkou," "Láska chce viac," and "Compromise." They also gained popularity with singles like "Sleeping With an Angel" and a collaboration with Flo Rida on "One Night Stand" in 2012. Their music blends catchy pop melodies with engaging performances, solidifying their place in the Slovak music scene.

Personal Lives and Recent Activities

Beyond their music career, both sisters have embraced motherhood, with Daniela giving birth to her daughter Linda in 2020 and Veronika welcoming her daughter Nea in 2022. The twins have also ventured into reality television, appearing on the show Farma in 2018. Despite personal challenges, including conflicts between their daughters, they continue to be a prominent duo in Slovak pop music.
