Early Life

Tyler Garcia-Posey was born on October 18, 1991, in Santa Monica, California, to Cyndi Terese Garcia and actor-writer John Posey. Growing up in Santa Clarita, California, he has one older brother and one younger brother. Tyler is of Mexican descent on his mother's side, which has influenced his artistic perspective.

Career

Tyler Posey began his career as a child actor, gaining recognition for his role as Raul Garcia in the television series "Doc" (2001–2004) and later as Ty Ventura in the romantic comedy "Maid in Manhattan" (2002). His breakout role came in 2011 when he starred as Scott McCall in MTV's "Teen Wolf," a series that ran until 2017 and showcased his ability to blend drama with supernatural elements. In addition to acting, Posey is also a musician; he co-founded the band Lost in Kostko in 2009 and has released several singles, including "This Luv Sux" and "Shut Up." His musical endeavors reflect his passion for creativity beyond acting.

Personal Life

In his personal life, Posey became engaged to his childhood sweetheart, Seana Gorlick, in 2013, but they broke off the engagement later that year. Tragically, his mother passed away from breast cancer in December 2014, a loss that deeply affected him and was honored in the fifth season of "Teen Wolf." In recent years, Posey has been open about his struggles with addiction and his journey towards sobriety. He publicly came out as queer and sexually fluid in 2021, aiming to inspire others by sharing his truth. In 2022, he announced his engagement to singer Phem, and they married in October 2023, marking a new chapter in his life.
