Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Victor Vernicos Jørgensen was born in October 2006 in Athens, Greece, to a Danish father, Lars Juul Jørgensen, and a Greek mother, Marina Vernicou. His musical journey began early; he started piano lessons at just four years old, followed by singing lessons at eight and guitar lessons at ten. By the age of eleven, he was writing his own songs, showcasing a natural talent for music. In 2021, he took a significant step in his career by producing and releasing a song entirely on his own, marking the beginning of his professional music endeavors.

Rise to Fame

In 2022, Vernicos submitted his song "What They Say" to the Greek public broadcaster ERT for consideration in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. His entry was shortlisted among seven acts, and he advanced to the final three candidates. On January 30, 2023, it was officially announced that he would represent Greece at Eurovision, making him the youngest artist ever to do so. Although he performed in the second semi-final, he finished 13th out of 16, with a total of 14 points, but his participation marked a significant milestone in his young career.

Victor is connected to the influential Vernicos business family through his maternal lineage, which adds an interesting dimension to his background. Despite his young age, he has already made a name for himself in the pop music genre, drawing inspiration from artists like Ed Sheeran and continuing to develop his unique sound as he grows in the industry.
