We Are DOMI

Formation

We Are Domi, originally known as Domi, is a Czech-Norwegian electropop band formed in 2016 in Leeds, United Kingdom. The band was initially created as a one-time project for lead vocalist Dominika Hašková's examination concert at the Leeds College of Music. Alongside Hašková, the original lineup included guitarist Casper Hatlestad, keyboardist Benjamin Rekstad, drummer Jostein Braaten, and backing vocalist Jemma Freese. After their initial performance, the group decided to continue making music together.

Key Releases and Evolution

In 2019, We Are Domi released their debut single "Let Me Follow," marking their transition from a college project to a serious musical endeavor. However, the band underwent lineup changes when Braaten and Freese departed. In 2020, they relocated to Prague, Czech Republic, further solidifying their identity as a band. The group has since released several singles, including "I’m Not Alright," "Someone New," and "Lights Off," the latter of which gained significant attention.

Eurovision Success

A pivotal moment in their career came in 2022 when We Are Domi participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. They won the Czech national selection with their song "Lights Off," which showcased their electropop style. At Eurovision, they performed last in the second semi-final and finished in 4th place, earning 227 points, which helped elevate their profile internationally.

We Are Domi continues to make waves in the music scene, blending their unique backgrounds and influences to create a sound that resonates with fans across Europe.
