Early Life

Wilhelm Friedemann Bach was born on November 22, 1710, in Weimar, Germany, where his father, Johann Sebastian Bach, served as the organist and chamber musician to the Duke of Saxe-Weimar. Tragically, Friedemann's mother, Maria Barbara Bach, passed away when he was just nine years old. Following this loss, Johann Sebastian Bach remarried in December 1721, and he took a keen interest in supervising Friedemann's musical education. Career

Afterward, he briefly studied law at Leipzig University but ultimately dedicated himself to music. Despite his talents, Friedemann died in poverty on July 1, 1784, leaving behind a legacy of compositions that included notable works for organ and harpsichord.
