Yeat

Early Life

Noah Olivier Smith, known professionally as Yeat, was born on February 26, 2000, in Irvine, California. He grew up in a diverse family; his mother, Laura, is Romanian, while his father, Joshua, has Mexican and British roots. Yeat spent his early years in Fullerton, California, before moving to Portland, Oregon, where he attended Lakeridge High School. After high school, he briefly relocated to New York City, eventually returning to the Greater Los Angeles area to pursue a music career.

Career

Yeat's musical journey began in 2015 under the name Lil Yeat, although those early works have since been removed from the internet. He re-emerged in 2018, debuting his track "Brink" on the YouTube channel Elevator. The name "Yeat" was born from a moment of creativity while he was high, blending the words "yeet" and "heat." His first mixtape, "Deep Blue Strips," was released in September 2018.

Yeat's breakthrough came in 2021 when he gained viral success on platforms like TikTok. His mixtape "4L" and the subsequent EP "Trendi" showcased his unique sound, characterized by Auto-Tune-infused vocals and aggressive, synth-based beats. Influenced by artists like Future and Young Thug, Yeat's style evolved to include elements of rage rap and experimental sounds, particularly evident in his later works like "2093." His innovative use of lingo and ad-libs has made him a notable figure in the contemporary rap scene, often associated with internet memes and trends.
