Ziferblat

Formation

Ziferblat, a Ukrainian alternative rock band, was formed in 2015 by fraternal twin brothers Daniil and Valentyn Leshchynskyi. Initially, they began their musical journey at the age of six, learning the cello and later developing a passion for rock music. After their ninth grade, they formed a band called Runnin' Blue, inspired by a song from The Doors. Following the Euromaidan protests, they decided to write songs in Ukrainian, leading to the birth of Ziferblat.

Key Releases and Lineup Changes

The band's first EP, "Kinoseans," was released in December 2017, featuring the Leshchynskyi brothers along with bassist Yevhen Shevchenko, drummer Valentyn Oliinyk, keyboardist Viktor Nikolenko, and saxophonist Andrii Martynenko. In 2019, they gained wider recognition with the single "Vnochi," which was performed on the X-Factor TV show by newly hired drummer Fedir Khodakov, who later became a permanent member of the band. Ziferblat continued to evolve, releasing the single "Zemlia" in 2022 and participating in the Vidbir 2023, the Ukrainian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Recent Work and Legacy

In 2023, Ziferblat released their album "Peretvorennia" on April 7, which included singles like "Dlia choho ty pryishla?" and "Dysko-Fanko Terapiia." The album was celebrated at a solo concert shortly after its release. Ziferblat's music reflects their commitment to Ukrainian culture and language, and they represented Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with their song "Bird of Pray," further solidifying their influence in the Ukrainian music scene.
