3OH!3

Formation

3OH!3, an American electronic music duo, was formed in 2004 by Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte in Boulder, Colorado. The duo, named after the 303 area code, met while attending the University of Colorado and bonded over their shared musical interests. Before forming the band, Motte was active as a DJ at local hip-hop shows, while Foreman participated in MC battles and had previously formed a hip-hop group. Their first track, "Say 'Dem Up," was included in their self-titled debut album, which was released on July 2, 2007.

Breakthrough

The duo's debut single, "Holler Til You Pass Out," was released on August 18, 2006, alongside its music video. Their self-titled album featured the second single, "Electroshock," and was recorded in their basement. Following their initial success, they opened for bands like The Blackout Pact and the Faint, eventually signing with Photo Finish Records, a division of Atlantic Records.

3OH!3 achieved significant commercial success with their second album, "WANT," which included the hit single "Don't Trust Me," reaching number seven on the Billboard Hot 100. Their remix of "Starstrukk," featuring Katy Perry, also became a top ten hit in several countries. Their third album, "Streets of Gold," featured the successful single "My First Kiss" with Kesha, further solidifying their place in the music scene.
