SOOJIN

Early Life

Seo Soo-jin, known mononymously as Soojin, was born in Gyeonggi, South Korea. From a young age, she showed a passion for performing arts, attending Waw Middle School in Hwaseong. Her dedication to dance led her to learn jazz dance and taekwondo while studying at the prestigious Korean Arts High School. Despite her aspirations to become a singer, it took her two years to persuade her father to support her dream.

Career

Soojin's journey in the music industry began as a trainee under DN Entertainment, where she was initially set to debut in the girl group Vividiva under the stage name N.Na. However, after leaving the group in 2015, she joined Cube Entertainment in 2016. She gained recognition as a dancer in music videos for fellow member Soyeon before debuting with the girl group (G)I-dle on May 2, 2018, with their mini album "I Am" and the hit single "Latata." The group quickly rose to fame, showcasing Soojin's talents as a singer, dancer, and rapper.

In addition to her group activities, Soojin participated in a fashion show titled "Minnie Soojin's i'M THE TREND" in October 2020, where she showcased her styling skills alongside fellow member Minnie. However, her career faced challenges when she was embroiled in a bullying scandal in March 2021, leading to her temporary hiatus and eventual departure from (G)I-dle and Cube Entertainment.

In a new chapter of her career, Soojin made her solo debut with the EP "Agassy," released on November 8, 2023, marking her transition from group activities to a solo artist under BRD Communications.
