Early Life

Ivan Oleksandrovich Dorn, born Ivan Aleksandrovich Yeryomin, is a prominent Ukrainian singer, actor, DJ, and producer, known for his eclectic musical style that blends house, disco, pop, jazz, funk, hip-hop, and neo-soul. He was born in Ukraine and has German ethnic roots, which may influence his artistic expression. His musical journey began in 1988, and he has since become a significant figure in the Ukrainian music scene.

Career

Dorn's career took off when he formed the duo "Para Normalnykh" with Anna Dobrydneva in 2006, after a brief stint in a Moscow a cappella group. The duo gained popularity, but by 2010, Dorn transitioned to a solo career, releasing his debut album "Co'N'Dorn" in 2012, which made a substantial impact in both Russia and Ukraine. His music has earned him numerous accolades, including an MTV EMA in 2017 and recognition as an idol for a new generation. Dorn has also made a name for himself on television, hosting the program "Guten Morgen" on M1 channel and serving as a judge on the fifth season of X Factor Ukraine.

In 2014, he stirred controversy by performing a Ukrainian-language song at the New Wave music festival while wearing a sweater featuring the Ukrainian coat of arms, which led to mixed reactions in Ukraine and Russia. Despite facing criticism for performing in Russia after the 2014 military intervention, he reportedly donated $10,000 to the Ukrainian army, showcasing his complex relationship with his homeland and his artistic integrity.
