Early Life

Poli Plamenova Genova was born on February 10, 1987, in Sofia, Bulgaria. She began her musical journey at the tender age of four, joining the Bulgarian children's ensemble Bon-Bon in 1991. By 1996, she had become a prominent member of the group, which not only allowed her to perform alongside notable Bulgarian artists but also to host a children's television show. Her talent was recognized early on, as she received a special award from Bulgarian National Television at the Golden Orpheus Festival for a duet with fellow singer Neli Rangelova. Genova left Bon-Bon in 2001 to pursue further education, graduating from the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music, where she studied clarinet, and later attending the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts.

Career

Genova's career took a significant turn when she participated in the Bulgarian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 with her song "One Lifetime Is Not Enough," finishing in second place. She returned to the competition in 2011 with the song "Na inat," which won her the opportunity to represent Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest that year. Although her entry did not qualify for the final, placing 12th in the semi-final, it marked a notable moment in her career. In addition to her music, Genova has been involved in various charitable projects, including the UNICEF initiative The Magnificent Six.
