ADONXS

Early Life

Born Adam Pavlovčin in Myjava, Slovakia, Adonxs was raised in Senica, where he developed a passion for dancing and singing, inspired by his older sister. He joined a junior dance crew and took singing lessons, but a significant voice change during his teenage years led him to quit singing and focus on dance. He excelled in street dance, winning the Slovak Championship five times. At fifteen, he moved to Bratislava for high school and later signed with a modeling agency. Eventually, he rediscovered his love for singing and moved to Prague for classical training under opera singer Hana Peckova, which helped him regain and expand his vocal range.

Career

Adonxs began his music career in 2015 as the lead singer of the alternative band Pace, which he formed with classmate Adrián Čermák. The band released their debut EP in 2018 and performed at various venues and festivals in London. However, after the pandemic, Adonxs returned to Prague and launched a solo career, gaining fame after winning the seventh season of SuperStar in 2021. His performances often challenged gender norms, and he became known for his unique fashion choices.

In 2022, he released his debut solo album, "Age of Adonxs," which earned him several accolades, including Album of the Year in Slovakia. He represented Czechia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song "Kiss Kiss Goodbye."

Activism and Artistry

Adonxs is also recognized for his activism, particularly in LGBTQ+ rights. He starred in the award-winning campaign "Every Love Is Love" and advocated for inclusive definitions of love in Slovak dictionaries. His music often explores themes of self-love and heartache, and he has been praised for his haunting vocal style and narrative songwriting. Influenced by artists like Queen and Depeche Mode, Adonxs has carved a niche in the baroque pop and alternative genres, earning him the title of "the queer king" in the media.
