Early Life and Education

Kim Hyun-joong was born on June 6, 1986, in Seoul, South Korea. As a child, he was studious but made the bold decision to drop out of high school to pursue a career in music. He later passed his high school exams and enrolled at Kyonggi University, but eventually left to focus on his burgeoning career. In 2011, he returned to academia, enrolling at Chungwoon University to study stage production management.

Career

Kim made his debut as the leader of the boy band SS501 on June 23, 2005, with their first EP, "Warning," released by DSP Media. The group quickly rose to fame, winning multiple new artist awards in their early years. In 2007, they debuted in Japan with the single "Kokoro," which reached number five on the Oricon charts.
