Early Life

Andrea Koevska, known simply as Andrea, was born on February 14, 2000, in Skopje, North Macedonia. From a young age, she was inspired by the vibrant musical scene of Harlem, New York, which influenced her artistic development. Her family background is notable; her mother is a physician and her father a law professor. The loss of her grandfather at the age of nine deeply impacted her, as he was a significant source of her passion for music.

Career

Andrea's musical journey began when she started posting short videos of herself singing popular songs online. This caught the attention of producer Aleksandar Masevski, who offered her a collaboration. In 2022, she gained international recognition by representing North Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest with her song "Circles." She won the national selection, Za Evrosong 2022, after receiving maximum points from the international jury. However, her participation was marred by controversy when she accidentally dropped the national flag during a photoshoot, leading to public backlash and an apology. Despite her efforts, Andrea did not qualify for the grand final, finishing 11th in the semi-final.

Artistic Development

Andrea's music is a blend of pop, electronic, and dance genres, influenced by her exposure to various styles while living in New York. She draws inspiration from artists like Lauryn Hill and Hayley Williams, which reflects in her diverse musical style. In addition to her vocal talents, she plays guitar and piano, showcasing her versatility as an artist.

Personal Life

Outside of music, Andrea enjoys practicing Muay Thai and caring for her dog, Leo. Her dedication to her craft and her active lifestyle highlight her multifaceted personality, making her a relatable figure to her fans.
