Bridgit Claire Mendler was born on December 18, 1992, in Washington, D.C. to Charles and Sandy Mendler. At the age of eight, she moved to Mill Valley, California, where she began her journey into the world of acting and music. Mendler's early interest in performing led her to participate in local plays and become the youngest performer at the San Francisco Fringe Festival. By the age of 11, she had hired an agent to pursue acting roles, marking the beginning of her professional career. Mendler is also the niece of psychologist Christine Blasey Ford.
