Early Life

Dorota Aqualiteja Rabczewska, known professionally as Doda, was born in 1984 in Ciechanów, Poland. Growing up, she excelled in athletics, winning multiple championships in events such as the long jump and 100 meters. However, her passion for music led her to leave sports behind. Doda made her professional debut at the young age of 14 in the musical "Metro" at the Buffo Theatre in Warsaw, where she honed her vocal skills under the guidance of renowned coach Elżbieta Zapendowska.

Career

Doda's music career took off when she joined the hard rock band Virgin at just 16 years old. The band released their debut album in 2002, which included hits like "To Ty" and "Mam tylko Ciebie." Their second album, "Bimbo," released in 2004, featured the chart-topping single "Dżaga" and solidified Doda's status as a pop icon in Poland. Over the years, she has released several successful albums, including "Diamond Bitch," "Siedem pokus głównych," and "Aquaria," and has produced numerous hit singles such as "Nie daj się" and "Melodia ta." Doda has been recognized with multiple awards, including the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Polish Act, and is celebrated for her contributions to pop and rock music.

Personal Life

Doda's personal life has been as dynamic as her career. She was married to Polish goalkeeper Radosław Majdan from 2005 to 2008. Following their divorce, she became engaged to Adam Darski, the frontman of Behemoth, but their engagement ended in 2011. Doda has also been in relationships with various figures, including choreographer Błażej Szychowski and businessman Emil Haidar. In 2018, she married film producer Emil Stępień in a private ceremony. Doda's life has been marked by her resilience and public engagement, notably when she publicly supported Darski during his battle with leukemia, appealing for bone marrow donations that ultimately helped him recover.
