Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Reginald Quincy Arvizu, known as Fieldy, was born in the United States and grew up in Bakersfield, California. He developed a passion for music early on and formed a friendship with Brian Welch while still in school. Together, they played in various bands, eventually relocating to Los Angeles after high school to pursue their musical dreams. They initially played in a band called L.A.P.D., which included future Korn members James Shaffer and David Silveria.

Rise to Fame with Korn

Fieldy's big break came when L.A.P.D. hired singer Jonathan Davis and rebranded as Korn in 1993. As the band's bassist, he contributed to the nu metal genre, helping to shape the sound that would define Korn and influence countless other artists. His nickname, "Fieldy," originated from a playful inside joke among bandmates, evolving from "Gopher" to "Garfield" before settling on its final form.

Career Developments and Personal Life

In August 2012, Fieldy took a brief hiatus from Korn to support his wife during her pregnancy, with Ryan Martinie filling in during his absence. However, on June 21, 2021, he announced an indefinite leave from the band for personal reasons. By May 2025, Fieldy revealed he had not spoken to Korn since 2019 and did not foresee a reunion. He also plays guitar and bass for the rock band Stillwell, showcasing his versatility as a musician.
