Finn Wolfhard

Early Life

Finn Michael Wolfhard was born on December 23, 2002, in Vancouver, British Columbia, to a family of French and German descent with Jewish heritage. He attended Catholic school and grew up in a household where his father, Eric Wolfhard, worked as a researcher on Indigenous land claims in Canada. Finn has an older brother, Nick Wolfhard, who is also an actor.

Career

Wolfhard's career began in the entertainment industry with his first acting role in 2012, appearing in the music video for "Retro Oceans" by the Vancouver band Facts. He gained significant recognition for his portrayal of Mike Wheeler in the Netflix series "Stranger Things" (2016–2025), which earned him and his castmates a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. In addition to his acting, Wolfhard is also a talented musician. He was the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the indie rock band Calpurnia until its dissolution in November 2019. Following this, he formed a new band, The Aubreys, which released their debut EP, "Soda & Pie," in March 2020. Wolfhard's music career continued to flourish, culminating in the release of his debut studio album, "Happy Birthday," in June 2025, followed by his second album, "Fire from the Hip," in July 2026.

Personal Life

Wolfhard has been open about his struggles with anxiety and panic attacks, which began during his teenage years amid the pressures of fame. He has sought therapy and advocates for mental health awareness. As of 2025, he has chosen to remain single to focus on his career and keeps his romantic life private. Wolfhard identifies as "pretty agnostic" and admires Pope Leo XIV for his progressive views.
