Early Life

Troyal Garth Brooks was born on February 7, 1962, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, into a family with a rich musical background. His mother, Colleen McElroy Carroll, was a country singer who recorded for Capitol Records, and his father, Troyal Raymond Brooks Jr., worked as a draftsman. Growing up, Garth was the youngest of six siblings and participated in family talent nights, where he honed his musical skills. Although he initially focused on athletics, excelling in track and field at Oklahoma State University, he eventually turned his attention to music, forming a band called Santa Fe while still in college.

Career

Garth Brooks began his professional music career in 1985, performing in clubs and bars in Oklahoma. His breakthrough came in 1989 with the release of his self-titled debut album, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Over the years, he released numerous successful albums, including "No Fences," "Ropin' the Wind," and "Fresh Horses," blending traditional country with pop and rock elements. Personal Life

Garth Brooks married songwriter Sandy Mahl in 1986, and they had three daughters together. The couple divorced in 2001 but remained amicable co-parents. In 2005, Brooks married fellow country artist Trisha Yearwood. Beyond his music career, he is known for his philanthropic efforts, founding the Teammates for Kids Foundation to support children's charities. Brooks has received numerous accolades, including 22 Academy of Country Music Awards and induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012, solidifying his legacy as a country music icon.
