Groove Coverage

Formation and Early Success

Groove Coverage is a prominent German dance music group formed in the summer of 2001 by DJ Novus in collaboration with Suprime Music and producer Axel Konrad. The lineup includes Melanie Münch, known as Mell, Verena Rehm, and Ole Wierk. The group quickly gained traction with their early singles, notably "Are U Ready" and "Hit Me," but it was their cover of Mike Oldfield's "Moonlight Shadow" that marked their breakthrough, reaching #3 on the German charts in June 2002. Their debut album, "Covergirl," was released later that year, featuring the hit single "God Is a Girl."

Rise to Fame

Following their initial success, Groove Coverage continued to climb the charts with the release of their second studio album, "7 Years and 50 Days," in March 2004. This album produced several top 20 hits, including "The End," "Poison," "7 Years and 50 Days," "She," and "Runaway." The cover of Alice Cooper's "Poison" became particularly popular, solidifying their status in the dance music scene. By 2005, their album had achieved platinum status in Asia, further expanding their international reach.

Continued Success and Legacy

Groove Coverage has released numerous albums and singles over the years, including "21st Century," "Riot on the Dancefloor," and various compilation albums like "Poison: The Best of Groove Coverage" and "Greatest Hits." With over 13 million records sold worldwide and eleven singles in the German Top 50, they are recognized as one of the most successful German dance acts. Their influence in the trance genre continues to resonate, making them a staple in the dance music community.
