Early Life

Eric Marlon Bishop, known professionally as Jamie Foxx, was born on December 13, 1967, in Terrell, Texas. Raised by his great aunt and uncle, Foxx's early life was marked by a strict Baptist upbringing, which influenced his musical talents. He began playing the piano at the age of five and was a choir leader at the New Hope Baptist Church. His comedic talent emerged early, as he entertained classmates with jokes in elementary school. Foxx excelled in academics and sports at Terrell High School, where he was the first player to pass for over 1,000 yards in football, while also performing in a band called Leather and Lace.

Career
