Early Life

Jennifer Lynn Connelly was born on December 12, 1970, in Round Top, New York. She is the only child of Ilene Carol, an antique dealer, and Gerard Connelly, a clothing manufacturer. Raised in a culturally rich environment, her mother was Jewish and her father was of Irish and Norwegian descent. The family moved to Brooklyn Heights when Jennifer was just one year old, and later to Woodstock to escape city smog. After returning to Brooklyn, she attended Saint Ann's School and graduated high school in 1988. Connelly then pursued higher education at Yale University, studying English literature before transferring to Stanford University to study drama.

Career

Connelly's career began at a young age when she was discovered as a model at ten years old. She appeared in print advertisements and television commercials, but her acting debut came in the 1984 film "Once Upon a Time in America." She gained recognition for her roles in various films, including the musical fantasy "Labyrinth" (1986) and the critically acclaimed "Requiem for a Dream" (2000). In addition to her acting, she recorded two pop songs for the Japanese market in 1986, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
