Early Life

Jarad Anthony Higgins, known professionally as Juice WRLD, was born on December 2, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois. Growing up in a single-parent household with his mother, Carmella Wallace, and older brother, he faced challenges early on, including the divorce of his parents when he was just three years old. Despite his mother's conservative upbringing, which limited his exposure to hip-hop, he found inspiration in rock and pop music through video games. Juice WRLD began playing the piano at the age of four and later picked up the guitar and drums, showcasing his musical talent from a young age. However, he also struggled with substance abuse, starting with lean in sixth grade and escalating to Percocet and Xanax by 2013.

Career

Juice WRLD's music career began in earnest during his sophomore year of high school when he started posting songs on SoundCloud. Initially performing under the name JuicetheKidd, he later rebranded to Juice WRLD, a name inspired by the film "Juice" and his desire to "take over the world." His breakout track, "Lucid Dreams," released in 2017, catapulted him to fame, leading to a record deal with Grade A Productions. Over his brief career, he released several successful albums, including "Goodbye & Good Riddance," "Death Race for Love," and the posthumous "Legends Never Die," solidifying his status as a leading figure in the emo and SoundCloud rap genres.

Juice WRLD's personal life was marked by his struggles with mental health and substance abuse, which he openly discussed. He was in a relationship with Ally Lotti at the time of his untimely death on December 8, 2019. Despite his challenges, he left a lasting impact on the music industry, influencing a generation of artists with his genre-blending style and emotional vulnerability.
