Early Life

Carolina Giraldo Navarro, known professionally as Karol G, was born on February 14, 1991, in Medellín, Colombia. The youngest of three children, she showed an early interest in music, participating in the talent show El Factor X at the age of 14. Inspired by artists like Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill, she began posting covers on YouTube, hoping to be discovered. This led to her first record contract with Flamingo Records and Diamond Music, where she adopted the stage name "Karol G." Her early career included opening for Don Omar and performing at a quinceañera with J Balvin.

Musical Career

Karol G's career took off after years of hard work and perseverance. From 2007 to 2016, she released several singles, including "En la Playa" and "Dime Que Sí." After facing rejection from Universal Records, she and her father promoted her music independently, leading to a breakthrough collaboration with Nicky Jam on "Amor de Dos" in 2013. Her unique blend of reggaeton, Latin pop, and urban music has garnered her numerous accolades, including a Grammy Award and eight Latin Grammy Awards. Personal Life

Karol G's personal life has also been a subject of public interest. She began a high-profile relationship with Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA in 2019, which included an engagement announcement at the Billboard Latin Music Awards. However, the couple ended their relationship in 2021. As of early 2023, she was seen with Colombian musician Feid, although this relationship also faced challenges. In a notable incident in February 2024, her private jet made an emergency landing, but all passengers, including Karol G, were unharmed.
