Margaret LeAnn Rimes was born on August 28, 1982, in Jackson, Mississippi, as the only child of Wilbur Rimes and Belinda Butler. At the age of six, her family relocated to Garland, Texas, where she began taking vocal and dance classes. Rimes showcased her talent early on, performing at local talent shows by the age of five and touring nationally with her father. By nine, she was already a seasoned performer, singing the national anthem at Dallas Cowboys games.
