Montero Lamar Hill, known professionally as Lil Nas X, was born on April 9, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia. His early life was marked by his parents' divorce when he was six, leading him to live with his mother and grandmother in the Bankhead Courts housing project. At the age of nine, he moved in with his father, a gospel singer, which he later recognized as a pivotal decision that kept him away from negative influences in Atlanta.
