Early Life

Michael Austin Cera was born on June 7, 1988, in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. He grew up in a family of Italian descent, with his father, Luigi, working as a technician and his mother, Linda, employed at Xerox. Cera's interest in acting sparked at a young age after he became enamored with the film "Ghostbusters," memorizing its dialogue while recovering from chickenpox. This passion led him to enroll in improvisation classes at The Second City in Toronto, setting the stage for his future career.

Career

Cera's career began in earnest in 1999 with his role in the Canadian children's show "I Was a Sixth Grade Alien." He quickly transitioned to film, making his debut in the science fiction movie "Frequency" (2000).
